Houston Rockets Receive: F/G Ben Simmons, G Isaiah Joe, F Paul Reed
Philadelphia 76ers Receive: G Kevin Porter Jr., G Eric Gordon, G D.J. Augustin, 2022 First-Round Pick, 2023 First Round Pick (via MIL), 2024 First Round Pick (via BKN)
The sooner the Philadelphia 76ers trade Ben Simmons the better. They would benefit from trading him before training camp so that their newly acquired players can acclimate themselves to their new team. In this scenario, they are getting numerous players in return from the Houston Rockets.
The Rockets showed interest in Simmons last year and they finally land their target this time around. He is the centerpiece of their return package and he is joined by Isaiah Joe and Paul Reed.
The package to acquire Simmons isn’t cheap, as the rebuilding Rockets part with four players and at least one draft pick.
Kevin Porter Jr. is the highest upside player included in this deal. After flaming out with the Cleveland Cavaliers, he has performed excellently in Houston.

Still looking to contend, the 76ers land two veterans in D.J. Augustin and Eric Gordon. Augustin and Gordon will both bolster Philadelphia’s offensive attack, giving them two perimeter players that can get their own basket and space the floor.
The 2022 first-round pick could have immense value as the Rockets could easily miss the postseason and be a lottery team. The other picks wouldn’t be as intriguing but are assets, regardless.
