Detroit Pistons Receive: G/F Ben Simmons, F Paul Reed
Philadelphia 76ers Receive: F Jerami Grant, G Cory Joseph, G Josh Jackson, DET 2024 1st Round Pick (Top-5 Protected), DET 2026 1st Round Pick (Swap, More Favorable to PHI)

Now, compared to other deals like the ones that the Minnesota Timberwolves, San Antonio Spurs, and Cleveland Cavaliers can offer, this Detroit Pistons trade does not really stack up in terms of value, but these are likely the three players that would be offered up in a trade for Simmons.

Maybe a three-team deal or four-team deal would be the way that Detroit ends up with Simmons, but Jerami Grant, Josh Jackson and Cory Joseph are the three main pieces we should expect to be on the move.

It is possible that Isaiah Stewart oir Saddiq Bey could also be offered up for Ben Simmons, but it is unlikely that Detroit will be willing to part ways with either of their second-year players given their potential.

The Pistons have been unwilling to talk about trades involving Jerami Grant, but he is their best talent next to Cade Cunningham and if Ben Simmons is coming to Detroit, then he would be their new “point-forward” at the power-forward position, meaning the Pistons would have to part ways with Grant.

Given that they are coming off a year in which they claimed the 1-seed in the Eastern Conference, the Philadelphia 76ers are going to need a strong return for any trade involving Simmons, which is why they could be interested in the three guys involved in this trade.

Grant emerged as a high-level talent last season after averaging 22.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.8 assists and he could fit in perfectly next to Tobias Harris and Joel Embiid in this team’s offensive attack.

The same can be said about Cory Joseph and Josh Jackson as well, two rotational guys who can provide depth to a contending team in this league.

Again, this trade does not have the “wow-factor” as other trades could, but in terms of depth and value, this is definitely a deal to think about. It is not the best deal the Philadelphia 76ers can get through, which is likely why the Detroit Pistons will not end up with Ben Simmons.
