Ben Simmons does not want to be in Philadelphia anymore
We have seemed to know Ben Simmons does not want to remain with the 76ers for quite some time now, but has anybody told Doc Rivers and Daryl Morey this? The entire 76ers organization seems to want Simmons to return to the team and come back for preseason, but the 3x All-Star seems quite alright with receiving his fines and letting the Sixers miss out on his value.
The more and more Simmons sits out, the more he is not only getting fined, but the more value Philadelphia loses. All offseason long, they have been searching for a trade involving another All-Star to move Ben Simmons, yet they have not been able to agree to terms or even progress on anything over the last several weeks.
Sources have told NBA Analysis Network that at this point, the 76ers will be extremely lucky to get an equivalent return to that of Ben Simmons’ true market value in this league and getting an All-Star-level player less than a month before the start of the season seems extremely unlikely to happen.
Maybe a star talent like Bradley Beal or Damian Lillard becomes available at the NBA trade deadline, but the chances of this happening seem slim to none. The Sixers have not received what they have wanted from other teams in trade offers and as a result, they are now stuck at a crossroads with their young superstar.

There really is nothing the 76ers can do to mend this relationship with Ben Simmons at this point, especially after he has declined to talk with management and even some of the players on the team who wanted to personally take time out of their own lives to try and hash things out with Simmons in California.

At this point, the 76ers are not going to get what they set out for initially this offseason, but there are still a handful of trade scenarios that if offered to them, they would still be a contending team in the Eastern Conference.
