The LA Clippers are going to be playoff contenders this season without Kawhi Leonard. They should have enough talent to compete for a spot above the NBA Play-In Tournament. But, if they want to cement themselves as a playoff team, someone such as Christian Wood would help them accomplish that.

Wood would be a huge upgrade at the center spot for the Clippers. He was outstanding in his first season with the Houston Rockets, showing that he can be an impact player when given the opportunity.

He averaged career-highs across the board, scoring 21 points with 9.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game. He knocked down 37.4 percent of his 3-point attempts as well and would provide Los Angeles with a third scoring option and floor spacing from the frontcourt.

With Wood in the fold, Paul George would have a legitimate running mate for the season. Upon Leonard’s return, the team would have a Big 3 that could make some noise in the postseason given their two-way play.

It won’t be cheap to acquire Wood but would be worth the price. His contract is as team-friendly as they come and he produces some excellent numbers that will help the Clippers win plenty of games.
