Danuel House Jr. – Houston Rockets
After trading James Harden last season, the Houston Rockets have entered a full rebuilding process, but they are already well ahead of schedule. Christian Wood ended up being a diamond in the rough for them and with other key young talents in Jae’Sean Tate, Kenyon Martin Jr., and Kevin Porter Jr., the Rockets may be better than many would expect.
Rookies Jalen Green, Josh Cristopher, Usman Garuba, and Alperen Sengun will all hold solid roles with this team during the 2021-22 season, making some of the Rockets veteran talents expendable.
Guys like Eric Gordon and D.J. Augustin are a little bit outside of Portland’s pay range in terms of salaries, but Danuel House Jr. is another shooter on the wing they could show interest in.
House has spent the last three seasons in Houston and has made a name for himself by being an above-average catch-and-shoot three-pointer. Since joining the Rockets, Danuel House Jr. has averaged 9.7 points and has shot 37.3% from deep, making him a nice addition to a team that traditionally is amongst the top of the league in perimeter shooting.

One part of Danuel House Jr.’s game too is the fact that he is not a terrible defender. He definitely is not a top-tier defender, but one-on-one, he can hold his own and he is a pretty decent rebounder from the wing.
For more depth and shooting on their bench, Danuel House Jr. is a solid option for the Portland Trail Blazers to trade for, especially since he is owed $3.8M this season and is in the final year of his contract.
