Chicago Bulls Receive: G Terrence Ross
Orlando Magic Receive: F Derrick Jones Jr., 2022 First-Round Pick

This would be the fourth trade that the Chicago Bulls will have taken part in this offseason. They have reshaped their entire roster and this will be another move to help them get back into the postseason picture.

They will be acquiring veteran wing Terrence Ross in this deal. Ross will be an excellent addition to their second unit.

To land him, they will be rerouting the package that they received from the three-team trade with the Portland Trail Blazers and Cleveland Cavaliers. Derrick Jones Jr. and a 2022 first-round pick are what Chicago received for parting ways with Lauri Markkanen and they are now turning it into Ross.

For the Magic, this deal makes sense. Ross is the only veteran remaining from their team as they are entering a rebuild. Nikola Vucevic and Aaron Gordon were both traded at the deadline, to the Bulls and Denver Nuggets respectively.

It seems like it is only a matter of time until Ross is on the move as well. Getting a first-round pick for him, even if it is heavily protected via Portland, would be a nice get for them.

With Ross heading out of town, the Magic would have even more minutes for their younger players in the backcourt and on the wing. Jones could provide them some depth at the forward spots, but it shouldn’t come at the expense of younger players such as recent first-round pick Franz Wagner or Chuma Okeke.

How are the BUlls feeling about this deal? Let’s take a look at it from their perspective.
