How This Trade Impacts Boston Celtics
Were this trade offered to the Boston Celtics, they would accept it in a heartbeat. This deal would not only help them presently but in the future as well.
Cam Reddish, despite all of his struggles this far in his career, would be a big upgrade on Aaron Nesmith on the wing. Even though it was a small sample size, what he accomplished against the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference Finals would be enough for virtually any team in the NBA to take a shot on him.
Reddish averaged 12.8 points on 64.3 percent from the 3-point line. That is unsustainable but shows just how good of a shooter he can be. He chipped in 3.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.5 steals in 23 minutes per game.
Boston would hope that was a turning point for Reddish and he would be ready to consistently contribute as a wing on their team. Their two best players on the team, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are also wing players. But, Ime Udoka could get creative and use Tatum at power forward, inserting Reddish into the starting wing spot alongside Brown.

Even if he is coming off the bench, he can provide an impact. Reddish came off the bench in all four of the postseason games he produced at a high level. He could make a potent combo off the bench with Dennis Schroder, should Marcus Smart take over as the starting point guard.
Getting a first-round pick, even if it is top-10 protected, would be a cherry on top for Boston. If all it costs would be Nesmith and Grant Williams to get it done, Brad Stevens will have pulled off a major coup.
