How This Trade Impacts Philadelphia 76ers
The Ben Simmons saga for the Philadelphia 76ers comes to an end with this hypothetical deal. They move their disgruntled All-Star to the Washington Wizards, but he is far from the only thing leaving town.
Tyrese Maxey, who shares a client with Simmons, is also in the trade. Rich Paul doesn’t want Maxey in Philadelphia any longer, so it avoids having to go through this process again, the 76ers reluctantly part ways with him.
But, the returning prize is well worth the price, as they are landing superstar Bradley Beal. Beal is arguably the best shooting guard in the NBA and takes the 76ers to a level that they were going to struggle to reach with Simmons on board.
Beal is one of the best offensive players in the NBA. He was the second-leading scorer in the NBA last season, averaging a career-high 31.3 points per game. It is the second consecutive season he broke the 30-point mark and he would be in a good position to do it for the third time in Philadelphia.

With Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris capable of getting buckets, Beal would have the most help he has ever had. He could make it look like a pick-up game not having to constantly face double or triple teams.
Having that level of perimeter threat with the inside game of Embiid will make the 76ers offense one of the toughest to stop in the league. Their defense will suffer without Simmons, but the upgrade offensively could be enough to even things out.

Without an option to take over as the starting point guard, Beal may be asked to handle the ball some more to initiate the offense. But, it is a role he has gotten more comfortable with over time, as he averages 4.0 assists per game in his career and a career-high 6.1 per game during the 2019-20 season without John Wall in the lineup.
