This Clippers-Rockets Trade Would Send Christian Wood To L.A.

A lot of the focus this NBA offseason for the LA Clippers was on upgrading their backcourt. The team did the best it could in that regard given the current circumstances, as they didn’t have much cap space to use in free agency.

Eric Bledsoe was acquired from the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for Patrick Beverley, Rajon Rondo and Daniel Oturu to help the backcourt. Reggie Jackson was re-signed in free agency as well.

In the 2021 NBA Draft, Los Angeles landed three guards. They traded up in the first round with the New York Knicks to get the draft rights to Keon Johnson. The draft rights to Jason Preston were acquired from the Orlando Magic and the rights to Brandon Boston Jr. were acquired from the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Clippers did a good job adjusting some areas on their roster, but 2021-22 is going to be difficult still without Kawhi Leonard. Leonard suffered a knee injury in their second-round playoff matchup with the Utah Jazz and will miss the majority if not all of, the 2021-22 season.
