Houston Rockets Receive: F Marvin Bagley III
Sacramento Kings Receive: G D.J. Augustin, F Danuel House Jr., HOU 2024 2nd Round Pick

In his first three seasons in the league, Marvin Bagley III has averaged 14.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 0.8 blocks and has shot 50% from the floor, but he has only played in a total of 118 games, Injuries have been a problem with Bagley over the years, hence why his value is not as high as one may expect from a former No. 2 overall pick in the final year of his rookie deal.

During the 2019-20 season, Bagley dealt with a non-displaced fracture in his right thumb that wound up sidelining him indefinitely because of the NBA’s stoppage of play due to the COVID-19 outbreak, but he returned late in the season only to suffer a right foot injury in practice.

Last season, Bagley’s injury struggles continued, as he suffered a fractured fourth metacarpal in his left hand on March 15 against the Charlotte Hornets. He also suffered some minor injuries here and there that caused him to miss some workouts and games throughout the season.

Taking a chance on a talented young player like Marvin Bagley III should definitely be appealing to the Houston Rockets, who could use some more frontcourt depth. Christian Wood and Daniel Theis are their only experienced big men, as Alperen Sengun, Usman Garuba and Kenyon Martin Jr. are all young assets the Rockets will look to develop further this season.

LATEST NBA NEWS: Latest Intel Surrounding Ben Simmons Amid NBA Trade Rumors

As for Sacramento, they are going to want a decent return for trading Marvin Bagley III, so this may not be a trade they look to pursue right away. D.J. Augustin is an older player with not much of a long-term future with the Kings and the same can be said about Danuel House Jr., who is nothing more than a rotational shooter on the wing.

If the second-round pick they were to receive was a first-round pick instead, the Kings may be more interested in this trade, but this may not be the right value they are looking for in a trade package for Bagley. However, this trade could still make sense for both teams given their season outlooks about a month away from the new season.
