Portland Trail Blazers Receive: G Bradley Beal
Washington Wizards Receive: G CJ McCollum, G Anfernee Simons, F Nasir Little, 2022 First-Round Pick, 2023 First-Round Pick Swap, 2024 First-Round Pick

This is a blockbuster deal unlike any we have seen in the NBA this offseason. The outlook for both the Portland Trail Blazers and Washington Wizards is drastically changed with this deal. But, it also should be noted that there has been no indication Bradley Beal has requested a trade. But, if he did become available, this is an interesting proposal to break down.

The Trail Blazers would have one of the best backcourt duos in the NBA with Beal joining Damian Lillard. It would be a similar dynamic to the one they currently have with Lillard and CJ McCollum, but a souped-up version.

Obtaining Beal will not be cheap. The Wizards will be looking for a lot in return and the Trail Blazers pony up. Washington hits every box you are looking for in a return package when trading away a superstar.

They get a borderline All-Star in McCollum that will help keep them competitive. They get two young players that could be building blocks in Anfernee Simons and Nassir Little. Both could benefit from a change of scenery that results in them getting more opportunities at playing time.

Last but not least, they get multiple first-round picks. Even if Washington wants to remain competitive, having those to add cheap talent to the roster or used to bolster trade packages gives the team options.

How does each team feel about this deal? Let’s take a look at it from each of their perspectives, starting with the Trail Blazers.
