Dennis Schroder – Boston Celtics
The biggest loser of the 2021 NBA offseason had to be Dennis Schroder, as he lost out on millions of dollars and long-term security with his job in the NBA.
In February, Schroder turned down a four-year, $84M contract extension offer from the Los Angeles Lakers because he felt he deserved to be paid $100M.
Well, things didn’t really go as planned for Dennis Schroder to end the season and especially in the Lakers’ six playoff games against the Phoenix Suns, which resulted in the Lakers giving Schroder the boot and any chance of him getting a high contract went out the window.
Due to teams not being interested in the German guard, especially at the price tag, he was putting on himself, Dennis Schroder was forced to sign a one-year, $5.9M deal with the Boston Celtics, which is not a bad spot for him whatsoever.

The 28-year-old guard will be playing next to All-Stars in Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, giving him a chance to stand out in the Celtics’ second-unit and off-the-bench in hopes of earning a new, long-term deal next offseason.
Entering his ninth season in the NBA, Dennis Schroder has averaged 14.3 points, 4.7 assists, and has shot 43.6% from the floor for his career, making him a solid guard in this league, but not one that deserves to be paid $100M.
