A few weeks ago, Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com reported that the Memphis Grizzlies were interested in potentially moving Dillon Brooks or Kyle Anderson “for the right price,” so could they potentially move Anderson in a package to acquire Malik Beasley? Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Dillon Brooks are the three main guys in the Grizzlies’ rotation right now, but this team really needs a perimeter shooting threat they can rely on.

Memphis traded away Grayson Allen, who shot 39.1% from deep last season, and while they have two 40% shooters returning in De’Anthony Melton and Desmond Bane, adding Malik Beasley to the wing would definitely be an upgrade in offensive talent for this team that ranked 15th in offensive rating during the 2020-21 regular season.

Kyle Anderson was a “glue guy” for Memphis last season and did a little bit of everything on both ends of the court to help them win games, but it would be wise for the Grizzlies to look and capitalize on his value in the final year of his contract. The same can be said about Tyus Jones, who is also entering the final year of his contract.

Jones played with the Timberwolves from 2015-2019 and they did not want to let him go, but Minnesota could not afford to pay him what the Grizzlies were offered during the 2019 offseason. Bringing back Tyus Jones could certainly make sense for the Timberwolves, especially since they not only have an open roster spot for a backcourt talent but because they traded Ricky Rubio to the Cavaliers this offseason.

Patrick Beverley and Taurean Prince are two guys the Timberwolves added to their roster this offseason to help on the defensive end of the floor and bringing in both Tyus Jones and Kyle Anderson could continue to put an emphasis for this franchise on getting better defensively. Both Jones and Anderson can also help in terms of perimeter shooting and scorer as well for Minnesota.

The Grizzlies and Timberwolves both could benefit from adding the players they get in this trade proposal, but does this trade truly make sense for both of the teams involved not just in terms of salaries, but in terms of improving from where they were last season?
