Jeff Teague – 2020-21 Team: Boston Celtics/Milwaukee Bucks

Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley, and JJ Redick are the best guards still available in free agency, but Jeff Teague is an underrated name to keep an eye on in regards to championship-level teams like the Lakers.

Again, much like with Dellavedova, the Lakers do have a lot of point guards on their roster right now, so they may not target another, but Teague brings championship experience with him.

The former All-Star guard began the 2021-22 season with the Boston Celtics last season before being traded to the Orlando Magic at the NBA trade deadline The Magic then waived Jeff Teague, resulting in him agreeing to a contract with the Milwaukee Bucks, who went on to win the 2021 NBA Finals.

For years, Jeff Teague has always been a well-respected point guard around the league and he can still bring a bit of value to a contending team in this league given his experiences. Teague has averaged 12.2 points, 5.6 assists, 1.1 steals and has shot 36% from deep for his career, making him a very solid bench player.

The Lakers have made it a point of emphasis to sign veteran players with All-Star/championship experience this offseason and with Jeff Teague checking off the boxes to both of these criteria, he is an ideal under-the-radar backcourt talent for the Lakers to consider signing.
