What Makes The Clippers The Best Fit
The LA Clippers have been in the market for an upgrade at the point guard position for a little while now. This offseason, they have totally revamped the group, as Reggie Jackson is the only one returning to the team from last season’s roster.
Patrick Beverley and Rajon Rondo were on multiple teams this offseason. They were traded, along with Daniel Oturu, to the Memphis Grizzlies. Beverley was later rerouted to the Minnesota Timberwolves, while Rondo received a buyout and remained in town, signing with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Eric Bledsoe was acquired in the deal with the Grizzlies, but that should not keep Los Angeles from making more moves. Malcolm Brogdon would be a huge upgrade for them at the point guard spot and help them in areas of need.
There has been a lot of pressure on Kawhi Leonard and Paul George to not only carry the LA Clippers with their two-way play but also initiate offense. Having someone as good as Brogdon at commanding the offense would help the team immensely as Leonard and George aren’t true playmakers. They were doing it out of necessity.

In addition to the playmaking, Brogdon would give Los Angeles a third scorer they can rely on. He has improved his scoring average each season in the NBA and would present a solid third option with his high-efficiency offense.
Playing a role for the LA Clippers behind Kawhi Leonard and Paul George should help push Brogdon back toward the 50-40-90 club, which he became a member of during the 2018-19 season.

Los Angeles is one of the best defensive teams in the NBA, and Brogdon would fit right in. The Virginia product is also a stout defender. He would be an excellent addition to a team that will look to tread water this season without Leonard in the lineup and return as contenders again in the 2022-23 season.
