3. Goran Dragic
There has been a lot of chatter connecting Goran Dragic to the Dallas Mavericks, and for a good reason. Dragic fits the mold of the player they are looking to pair with Luka Doncic in their backcourt. Acquiring him, however, will be the challenge.
Dragic has played the last seven seasons of his career with the Miami Heat. He had a team option for the 2021-22 season, which the Heat picked up, but it was to help facilitate the sign-and-trade with the Toronto Raptors.
Miami landed Kyle Lowry on a three-year, $90 million contract in that deal. Dragic, Precious Achiuwa, and a future second-round pick were sent to Toronto. Dragic was less than pleased about being traded there, saying he had higher ambitions than playing for the Raptors, and they were not his first choice to be moved to.
He would apologize, but the damage was probably done. His current situation with Toronto is fuzzy. Depending on who you talk to, you’ll get a different answer about whether they will buy him out or trade him.

Regardless of what happens, he would be a good fit for Dallas. He and Doncic are two of the best players Slovenia has ever produced, and getting them on the court together would produce good results.
