Brings Team Closer To 2020 Title Makeup
The Los Angeles Lakers changed the makeup of their team last season. After winning the championship in the Orlando Bubble, they tweaked some of their roster makeup, and the results were not as positive.
During the 2019-20 season, the Lakers had defensive-minded centers that controlled the paint and could play above the rim. That kind of presence was missing from last season’s roster, but they are looking to get back to how things were when they won the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
DeAndre Jordan fits the mold of a vertical option at the center position. Dwight Howard is back as well after being an integral part of that championship squad. Jordan will essentially be taking over the role that JaVale McGee played on that team.
Jordan and Howard are the new tag team at the center position in Los Angeles and they will provide a positive impact. Easy lobs to the basket and consistent rim protection were missed last season, but it will be back with the revamped center position.
