Solid Rebounding

The Los Angeles Lakers’ biggest problem area during the 2020-21 season was 3-point shooting. They struggled mightily to make an impact from behind the arc, and it was one of the reasons their offense struggled at times.

They looked to change that this offseason, as they brought in multiple players that knocked down at least 40 percent of their 3-pointers last season. Carmelo Anthony, Malik Monk, Wayne Ellington, Kent Bazemore and Rajon Rondo all hit that plateau.

While DeAndre Jordan will not be helping in that area, he will be able to help in one, rebounding. The Lakers were a middle-of-the-road total rebounding team last season, finishing 17th in the league. They did a solid job limiting opponent’s rebounds, as they were fourth in the league in that category, and Jordan will help solidify that.

Jordan averaged 7.5 rebounds per game last season in 21.9 minutes per game. He is only one season removed from averaging 10 per game, as he was one of the better rebounders in the NBA for some time.

While he is no longer elite in that area, he will be able to help the Lakers control the glass whenever he is on the court.
