Ideal Trade Destination For Collin Sexton
Several teams should contact the Cleveland Cavaliers if they do not sign Collin Sexton to a contract extension. There are plenty of teams with pieces in place that can mitigate his shortcomings but highlight his strengths.
The New York Knicks were one of the teams mentioned as a landing spot earlier in the offseason. Tom Thibodeau has the defensive systems to get anyone to succeed on that end of the court willing to put in the work. His downhill style would have also fit in well offensively to take pressure off Julius Randle and RJ Barrett.
But, the Knicks added Kemba Walker to Derrick Rose, Immanuel Quickley, and now Deuce McBride on the roster.
The Miami Heat would have been a great landing spot given what they have in place as well. Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler are perfect pieces to have around a player with Sexton’s skill set. Alas, they went in a different direction and landed Kyle Lowry.

The Los Angeles Lakers would have made for an intriguing landing spot as well, especially since they could have cobbled together a package to take Kevin Love off of Cleveland’s hands. Instead, they landed Russell Westbrook and brought in numerous veterans to round out the roster.
With conceivable destinations dwindling, one team remaining would make a great landing spot for Sexton; the Dallas Mavericks. What makes the Mavericks the best trade destination for Sexton? Let’s break it down.
