NBA Analysis Network

This offseason we saw plenty of player movement around the NBA. There was a flurry of trades during the 2021 NBA Draft and free agency saw players joining new teams at a feverish pace as well.

The rosters weren’t the only thing changing this offseason, as there were a ton of head coaching changes that were made. Seven teams will be with new head coaches this season. Eight, if you include Nate McMillan having the interim tag removed and officially being named head coach of the Atlanta Hawks.

Two of the coaches, Nate Bjorkgren with the Indiana Pacers and Stan Van Gundy with the New Orleans Pelicans, were out after one season. Lloyd Pierce didn’t make it much longer with the Hawks, as he was fired 34 games into his third season.

Rick Carlisle, who stepped down as head coach of the Dallas Mavericks after 13 seasons, is taking over the Pacers’ job. Jason Kidd will be getting his third crack at a head coaching job replacing Carlisle.
