3. Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks have been the team connected to Goran Dragic the most since the reported sign-and-trade between the Toronto Raptors and Miami Heat came to fruition. They hope he will be re-routed to them, but they want it to be via a buyout.
Waiting on a buyout is a risky decision as Dragic would fill the biggest need that the Mavericks had coming into the offseason; a secondary ball-handler for Luka Doncic.
The Dallas Mavericks brought in Sterling Brown and Reggie Bullock in free agency. Both are solid players that will help turn the team around on defense and can knock down some 3-pointers. But both are wing players. Neither will help in the ball-handling and playmaking department.
Dragic has a relationship with Doncic, as both hail from Slovenia. Adding him to the roster would fill something they identified as a need but also keep Doncic happy. At the end of the day, keeping their franchise player as satisfied as possible is key for the Dallas Mavericks.

Acquiring Dragic would do that. If there is a deal to be made, they should certainly look into it. Dragic would improve their depth in the backcourt and, when healthy, has proven that he can still produce at a good clip.
