Memphis Grizzlies Receive: G/F Buddy Hield
Sacramento Kings Receive: F Kyle Anderson, G Tyus Jones, G/F Jarrett Culver, LAL 2022 1st Round Pick (Top-10 Protected, via MEM)
A few weeks back, it was reported that the Memphis Grizzlies were interested in hearing offers for both Dillon Brooks and Kyle Anderson, but they would not move either one of these guys unless they received “the right price” for them.
Memphis would much rather keep Brooks over Anderson, which is why they could be willing to trade the veteran wing for Buddy Hield.
Kyle Anderson has spent the last three seasons in Memphis and has turned himself into a very productive two-way player for them, averaging 8.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.1 steals, and shooting 33.4% from three-point range.
Last season, Anderson averaged a career-high 12.4 points per game, and he is in the final year of his contract, making him an intriguing trade asset.

Both Tyus Jones and Jarrett Culver are two players the Grizzlies should want to move, given their contracts and the fact that this team needs to cut some salaries from their roster. They really do not need Jones as a backup point guard anymore since they have De’Anthony Melton and Kris Dunn, but he is also owed $7.6M in the final year of his contract.
The Kings may be willing to absorb Jones’ contract for one year, especially if they can add a productive player like Kyle Anderson on the wing and another young talent in Jarrett Culver, who still has the potential to be a key role player off-the-bench.

Moving Buddy Hield seems like something inevitable at this point for Sacramento, and seeing as they probably are not going to make the playoffs, moving his salary could be the best move the Kings can make to help prepare them for the next offseason’s potential moves.
You never want to give up on a season, especially before it begins, but this trade could actually provide the Sacramento Kings with more value than keeping Hield to begin the year.
