They may not have signed anyone in NBA free agency this offseason, but the Memphis Grizzlies have been one of the busiest teams in the league this summer! GM Zach Kleiman has been dealing and acquiring players left, and right and both he and the Grizzlies’ front-office have done a fantastic job of assembling this current team while also building for the future.

Just this offseason alone, the Grizzlies have added a handful of future draft picks, including Steven Adams, Jarrett Culver, Kris Dunn, rookies Ziaire Williams and Santi Aldama, and others to their roster.

With the Grizzlies sitting above the 15-man limit for the season on their roster, they are not done making moves just yet, and they have a chance to add even more talent to their roster.

Memphis exceeded expectations last season, as they finished the 2020-21 season with a 38-34 record, which helped them claim the 8-seed in the playoff picture.

The Grizzlies may have lost to the Utah Jazz in the first round of the postseason, but they won Game 1 of this series, and not only did Ja Morant continue to improve all season long, but Dillon Brooks and Jaren Jackson Jr. continued to grow.

There is a lot of potential within this Grizzlies organization, and with them being one of the youngest teams in the league, they are only going to get better with time.

With moves still to make, though, and the Grizzlies needing more talent around Morant, could they possibly look to upgrade their depth on the perimeter with a player like Buddy Hield?

The Kings have been shopping Hield around all offseason long and almost traded him to the Los Angeles Lakers on draft night, but the trade was called off after Los Angeles traded for Russell Westbrook instead.

Now, Buddy Hield knows he was about to be moved from the Kings, signally that they do not want him anymore, which could create a dicey situation in Sacramento.

The Memphis Grizzlies need more shooters on their roster, and they could benefit from adding a scorer like Buddy Hield, so let’s take a look at what they would have to give up to acquire the former 6th overall pick from the Sacramento Kings.
