Ben Simmons gets moved before the start of the season

Where is Ben Simmons going to go? Your guess is as good as mine, but as of right now, the Minnesota Timberwolves, Sacramento Kings, Golden State Warriors, and San Antonio Spurs have all expressed a solid amount of interest in trading for the 3x All-Star.

Whether or not these teams are willing to give up the assets the 76ers want is another key question, but these are not the only teams who could pursue Simmons.

If they could, every team in the league would put together their best trade package to try and acquire Ben Simmons because while he can be a liability on offense at times, he is still a Top-30 player in the league because of what he does defensively.

Ben Simmons has made the All-Defensive First Team for back-to-back seasons now and he finished as the runner-up to Rudy Gobert for Defensive Player of the Year.

Regardless of what you think of him offensively, Ben Simmons is definitely a high-level and impactful player in this league, which is why he is still going to be viewed as a potential franchise-altering player.

Put Ben Simmons on 10-12 different teams in this league and he is the best pure talent on their roster, so we need to stop saying he is a worthless player.

Ultimately, given all the trade talks surrounding him right now and the fact that Simmons is going to sit out training camp, which begins on September 28, the Philadelphia 76ers are going to be moving their former No. 1 overall pick before the start of the 2021-22 season.

There is just no need to keep him at this point since the bridges have been burned in the Sixers’ relationships with Ben Simmons and his team, which is why some other team is going to be willing to pay Philly’s price.

The biggest question though is what will the 76ers actually get in return? Will they get another All-Star talent or will the 76ers settle with taking back some impactful secondary talents and draft picks?
