Houston Rockets continues to “clean house” on veteran players
Some key moves that we are waiting on answers for revolving around the Houston Rockets and what they will do with some of their veteran players.
With Jalen Green, Josh Christopher, Usman Garuba, and Alperen Sengun all coming into this organization as rookies, the Rockets are going to be looking to develop their young talents more this offseason, which is why John Wall and Eric Gordon could be on their way out.
Moving John Wall and the $91.6M remaining on his contract over the next two seasons is definitely a difficult thing to do, but Eric Gordon’s contract is definitely somewhat moveable and he should draw some interest over the next several months if the Rockets actively look to move him.
Gordon is now 32-years-old and is coming off a groin injury, but last season before getting injured, he was averaging 17.8 points, 2.6 assists, and shooting 43.3% from the floor.

A career 36.8% three-point shooter, Eric Gordon can definitely still contribute off the bench for a contending team in this league, which is why he could draw trade interest.
The Rockets did look to trade Gordon ahead of the NBA Draft this offseason in attempts to gather another first-round pick, but they were unable to come to terms on any deals.
Maybe all they would get is one or two second-round picks for him at this point, but even though he is owed $58.7M over the next three seasons, he can still be a valuable secondary talent.
