4 Moves Around NBA We’d Still Like To See Before 2021-22 Season

NBA Analysis Network

The 2021 NBA offseason is coming to an end in dramatic fashion as while pretty much all the big-name free agents have signed with a team, there are still plenty of big moves that can be made.

Not only is there a lot going on with Ben Simmons trade rumors, but there are several other notable names who could be on the move in the near future, plus there are still some impactful free agents available.

Including pre-draft, during draft and post-draft trades, we have seen a total of 27 different trades finalized this summer.

Involved in these trades, we have seen some key names in Kemba Walker, Lauri Markkanen, Lonzo Ball, DeMar DeRozan, Kyle Lowry, Patrick Beverley, Devonte’ Graham, and many others be on the move to new teams. Could these trades ultimately help decide a champion during the 2021-22 season?

Free agency was also crazy and as mentioned above, included a handful of sign-and-trades as well. Over 140 different players have signed a new contract this offseason and while the free agency class this offseason was weaker than it had been in years past, we still saw teams better themselves and their chances to contend for a title.

The Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls ended up being big winners of the offseason with the free agency moves and trades they made, but as a whole, the Eastern Conference really improved.

Not one team that made the playoffs in the east last season really got worse and of the teams that missed the playoffs, almost all of them got better.

As for the Western Conference, the Lakers are looking to make it back to the NBA Finals, the Suns, Jazz, Nuggets, and Clippers are still going to be real threats and the Golden State Warriors have a chance to be the “Comeback Team of the Year” with Klay Thompson set to make his return for the first time since the 2019 NBA Finals.

The 2021-22 NBA season has a chance to be really special and full of exciting matchups every single week, but before the season begins, there could still be some moves to be made.

With this said, let’s take a look at four moves around the league that we would still like to see happen before next season begins.
