Sacramento Kings Receive: C Marc Gasol, 2023 Second Round Pick (via CHI)

Los Angeles Lakers Receive: F Robert Woodard II

Marc Gasol would be the biggest name featured in this trade. He signed a two-year deal with the Lakers last offseason and it has been a roller coaster.

There were feelings that Gasol would return to Los Angeles next season but that is no longer a guarantee. This would especially be the case if DeAndre Jordan were to be bought out by the Brooklyn Nets.

Keep in mind, the Nets have landed Paul Millsap in free agency in addition to Blake Griffin. Brooklyn could even end up land LaMarcus Aldridge and are the favorites to do so. There would be no need to keep Jordan around with Nicolas Claxton in the mix, too.

If he is moved, the Kings could take on the short-term contract of a veteran center. Gasol and a second-round pick would be sent to Sacramento.

In return, the Lakers would receive Robert Woodard, who could contribute as a bench piece. He was thought of as being a ‘3-and-D’ prospect coming out of the NBA Draft from Mississippi State.

Let’s take a look and see how this NBA trade scenario centered around Marc Gasol would impact both the Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings.
