Does this trade make sense for the Philadelphia 76ers?
The Philadelphia 76ers would pretty much be moving Ben Simmons and some future assets for Damian Lillard in this trade package, which is why they should absolutely pursue this deal.
The ultimate goal of the Sixers for months now has been to try and move Simmons for an All-Star to pair with Joel Embiid and both Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal have been the two guys they have been wanting to pursue.
Neither guy has been made available, hence why the 76ers have yet to trade away Ben Simmons. This whole situation in Philadelphia is really weird given the way things have played out, but Daryl Morey is not afraid to take his time with this matter.
He is going to try and get the best deal possible in terms of what he wants, which is why Lillard is not off-the-table yet in trade talks, regardless if he says he does not want to be traded yet.

Jaden Springer, Matisse Thybulle, and the rights to four first-round picks is definitely a lot of future value for the 76ers to give up, but if they were to get Lillard, they would instantly increase their odds of winning a championship.
Who knows, maybe they still come up short, but right now, they do not have much of a chance against the Brooklyn Nets or Milwaukee Bucks in a seven-game series in the Eastern Conference playoff picture.

In order to potentially win a championship, the 76ers need to move Ben Simmons for a top-tier player in this league, and the only two players that make sense for them in terms of winning a title are Bradley Beal and Damian Lillard. For this reason is why this trade makes sense for them, regardless of the assets they are giving up.
