Does this trade make sense for Philadelphia 76ers?

Andrew Wiggins, James Wiseman, and Jordan Poole, plus some first-round draft picks over the years is definitely a lot of value and fair value for a Ben Simmons oriented trade on the Philadelphia 76ers-end of things, but overall, they are going to need another All-Star in return for Simmons, which is something the Golden State Warriors cannot offer up. 

If Golden State is the team Ben Simmons wants to be traded to and they want to trade for him, then a third and possibly a fourth team will have to get involved in this trade to make things work.

The 76ers are not just going to give Simmons up for nothing, even though they would be getting two young pieces and a two-way talent in Andrew Wiggins, but this is not the kind of value they have in mind. 

Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal would be really great additions in a Simmons trade, but these scenarios are a little crazy since both Lillard and Beal do not want to be traded… at least not yet! Who knows what kind of All-Star the 76ers would be willing to take back in return for Ben Simmons, but they do want an All-Star talent.

For this reason, is why this trade with the Warriors does not make much sense for the Sixers, but this does not mean they are out of the running to acquire him.

Golden State’s assets that they can offer are some of the best league-wide, which is why a third or fourth team could get involved in this deal to help even things out for the Philadelphia 76ers. 

There are plenty of teams who would be interested in all three guys the Warriors are offering up in this trade package, which is why Golden State could hypothetically wind up with Ben Simmons.

At this point, who knows what the 76ers are going to do, but it seems almost certain that Ben Simmons will be on the move before the start of the 2021-22 season.
