Washington Wizards
The Washington Wizards were part of the biggest trade this offseason. They traded Russell Westbrook to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Montrezl Harrell and a 2021 first-round draft pick.
It was a franchise-altering deal, as many assumed that Westbrook’s backcourt mate, Bradley Beal, would be out the door shortly after. Instead, it looks as if the Wizards are going to build around Beal and try to win with him as the centerpiece opposed to tearing things down.
The Wizards have a deep roster, but the one area they could use some depth in is at the center position. Daniel Gafford played well down the stretch for them last season upon being acquired from the Chicago Bulls and Harrell is a solid bench piece. But, adding a player such as Christian Wood and keeping both of them with the second unit would make them an even deeper team.
Wood would give the Wizards an added dimension as another big-man that can spread the court after making 37.4 percent of his 3-point attempts this past season. He would also provide a bit of a defensive presence in the middle for the starting five.

Washington was not a great 3-point team last season, ranking 28th in makes, 29th in attempts and 22nd in 3-point percentage. The Los Angeles Lakers were the only playoff team that shot worse from deep than Washington, so it is an area they need to improve upon to move up in the standings.
