The Dallas Mavericks came into the NBA offseason with some clear-cut needs. After shaking up their front office and coaching staff, as Donnie Nelson and Rick Carlisle both are no longer with the organization, with Nico Harrison and Jason Kidd taking their place, the roster was next.

Dallas has a superstar in Luka Doncic, but they need to adjust the roster around him to help take this team to the next level. They took steps towards doing that this offseason.

The organization didn’t have a pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, but they made some moves in free agency. Sterling Brown and Reggie Bullock were both signed, as they will help in two areas of need; defense and floor spacing.

Both are versatile, having the ability to defend multiple positions. They are also excellent 3-point shooters, as both made more than 40 percent of their attempts last season.

But, this roster is still not yet on par with the other contenders in the league. Kristaps Porzingis needs to find some more consistency and get on the same page with the organization. The team could use a little more offensive firepower and it certainly wouldn’t hurt to add some more defensive-minded players to the mix as well.
