Would this trade make sense for the Portland Trail Blazers?

The Portland Trail Blazers have decisions to make this offseason but they will not do that until Damian Lillard makes his first. It is unlikely that they decide to trade their All-Pro point guard on their own. This means he has a real chance to remain with the Blazers and CJ McCollum could be the one being sent away.

The Blazers could decide to hang onto both of their big names as the offseason progresses. If they decide to move their big names, that means they want to blow it up a bit.

Portland has been eliminated in the first round of the postseason in four of the last five years. This is where patience could be running low for the organization and there are plenty of options moving forward.

Lillard would be the ultimate trade piece but McCollum would be right behind him. If Lillard is left, they could get a large return for their other star. Portland would be able to add depth and round out the rotation a bit better around Lillard. This has been a problem over the years.

The Blazers have lacked depth and balance on both ends. This could be a reason that they have not been able to advance in recent years. That could change with one big trade.
