Would this trade make sense for the New York Knicks?
The thought behind signing Evan Fournier was clear and it should be an impactful addition for the New York Knicks. What if they could involve him in a trade for a more long-term piece, however?
Again, Fournier has taken his scoring up a notch and would certainly help the New York Knicks from three-point range. With that being said, he is the type of player that RJ Barrett could turn into — hopefully better. Barrett will continue to improve as a shooter and can create his own shot using the dribble.
Barrett excels at getting to the basket using his size and strength to finish at the rim. He has played shooting guard within the offense so the Knicks could opt for more of a true small forward. That is what Andrew Wiggins is.
Barrett has proven to be a scorer when needed and can defer to other players. Wiggins is another athletic freak that knows his role and what he does well. Keep in mind, the Knicks would have more defensive versatility after making a move for Wiggins, too.

This all depends on which fit you believe is better. With Walker at the top of the offense, the Knicks already look more balanced. Now, they can continue to put the right players around Walker, Barrett, and of course, Julius Randle.
