Their bench improves slightly, but still struggles against the better teams in the league

One of the biggest problems the Boston Celtics have had over the years is the fact that their bench is very underwhelming and they really do not have much reliable talent outside of their starting unit.

Last season, the Celtics ranked 28th in the league in bench scoring, which is why going out and adding more overall depth was a must this offseason.

Brad Stevens definitely addressed this problem, as he added Dennis Schroder, Josh Richardson, Al Horford, Enes Kanter and others, as mentioned earlier. All of these guys are going to hold big roles for this Celtics’ team this upcoming season and they will need to if this team is going to have any shot at competing for a championship.

Their window is small, but the Boston Celtics do actually have a chance to be a special team. They have two young superstars with Brown and Tatum and now with reliable, experienced talents in their second-unit, they may actually be able to hold onto leads for once, something that was a big problem a season ago.

Bench scoring is extremely important in the league today and the teams that win championships are the ones who can get production from a handful of guys on their bench. The Celtics have not had that over the years, so hopefully for their sake, their offseason moves prove to be useful in terms of bench scoring this season.
