Would this trade make sense for the Detroit Pistons?

The Minnesota Timberwolves have been attempting to put the right players around Karl-Anthony Towns in hopes of turning things around. The reality is that they have made the postseason just once since using the first-overall pick on Towns in 2015.

It is not getting any easier as the Western Conference continues to improve up and down the standings. Jerami Grant would be a welcomed addition to the rotation. He is a player with great experience on winning teams. This was not the case last season but he was able to showcase his other skills.

Grant was never the focal point of an offense. He is an elite piece that can produce on both ends of the floor. This is valuable for a team looking to bring leadership to the roster. He would join Towns in a frontcourt that has a chance to turn some heads if healthy.

Grant has two years left on his contract so it would not be a long-term piece for Minnesota if they do not want it to be. Also, Grant would be an easy player to flip in another deal if they wanted.

There are plenty of options here with Grant. The front office of Minnesota would have a plan before this deal is made and it would be interesting to see the direction they went with Grant.
