Would this trade make sense for the Houston Rockets?

Houston finished with the worst record in the league last season but they were not able to land the first pick in the draft. This means they missed out on the chance to land Cade Cunningham and selected Green with the second pick. This is a pick that is Houston should build around moving forward.

When Westbrook and Harden were sent away, it was obvious the direction the franchise was taking. They signed Christian Wood in free agency and John Wall came back from the Washington Wizards in that Westbrook deal.

Gordon was thought to be a big trade piece, especially when PJ Tucker was sent away. Instead, the Rockets held off but this is where they can get a return for their veteran guard.

This trade is less about the return and more about getting short-term options on the roster. They still need to begin building for the future and around Green.

This is a chance to land some more draft capital as well. This is like gold for a rebuilding team like Houston and should be at the forefront of any deal that is made.
