Terrence Ross – Orlando Magic
Trading for a guy like Terrence Ross is not going to be a “wow-factor” type trade that makes the Washington Wizards a team to beat in the league, but Ross is a really solid rotational guy that could definitely aid the Wizards’ second-unit. Guys like Deni Avdija, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and rookie Corey Kispert are also going to play roles on the wing, but Ross is an all-around scorer that could really help take all the scoring load off of Beal.
Prior to getting injured last season, Terrence Ross had himself in the running for Sixth-Man of the Year and his team was one of the worst in the league! The veteran wing really is one of the more underappreciated players in the entire league and one of the more underrated scorers.
Since joining the Orlando Magic during the 2016-17 season, Ross has been very effective on the offensive-end of the floor, averaging 14.2 points and shooting 41.6% from the floor, 35.8% from three-point range. Not to mention, he has come off-the-bench in over 80% of the total games he has played in Orlando since joining them.
Washington’s bench should be better than they were last season in terms of shooting, but they are still missing that key scorer that they can lean on outside of their starting rotation. Terrence Ross could absolutely be that guy and his contract is cheap, only owed $24M over the next two seasons, which is very favorable for the Wizards given their financial hardships.

A trade involving Thomas Bryant or possibly Davis Bertans, plus a draft pick, could be enough to convince Orlando to trade their veteran wing, which would wind up being a solid deal for Washington to get more scoring help they are going to need. Again, this trade does not set them over-the-edge in terms of talent, but it is definitely a start to prove to Beal that they are committed to helping him on the offensive-end of the floor.
