Eric Gordon – Houston Rockets
With them building a new young core in Houston, the Rockets have been shopping some of their veteran players, including Eric Gordon. They were close to getting a deal involving him going to the Indiana Pacers close to this year’s draft, but trade talks never advanced.
The veteran wing is owed $58.7M over the next three seasons with the final year of his contract being non-guaranteed, which in the grand scheme of things is not favorable to the Wizards, but they could potentially move Davis Bertans and his big salary in a deal to acquire Eric Gordon.
He may be 32-years-old now and not the same player he was earlier in his career, but Eric Gordon is still definitely a guy who can contribute at a high-level for the Wizards’ second-unit.
Injuries have cut his last two seasons short, but since joining the Rockets ahead of the 2016-17 season, Eric Gordon has averaged 16.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and has shot 35.5% from deep.

When looking for more talent to appease Bradley Beal, the Washington Wizards should turn their attention to adding established players who have played for playoff contending teams before, which is exactly why Eric Gordon would be a smart target for them. He can play at a fairly high level on both ends of the floor and could definitely aid them in perimeter play, which is why Eric Gordon is worth taking a chance on.
