Memphis Grizzlies Receive: G/F Buddy Hield
Sacramento Kings Receive: G Patrick Beverley, G De’Anthony Melton, UTA 2022 1st Round Pick (Protected 1-6), MEM 2023 2nd Round Pick, MEM 2027 2nd Round Pick
De’Aaron Fox, Tyrese Haliburton and rookie Davion Mitchell make up a very strong trio in the Sacramento Kings’ backcourt, but these three guys seem to be the only guys on the roster that are safe from being move… along with Richaun Holmes as well, who just signed a new four-year deal with the team.
Buddy Hield, Harrison Barnes and Marvin Bagley III all seem to be guys on the trade block and the Kings were very close to sending Hield to the Los Angeles Lakers for Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell and the No. 22 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft (Isaiah Jackson) before they traded for Russell Westbrook.
Buddy Hield could definitely be an asset for the Grizzlies, especially since they ranked 20th in the league in three-point shooting last season.
By adding Hield to their rotation, the Grizzlies would have a projected starting lineup of Ja Morant, Buddy Hield, Dillon Brooks, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Steven Adams. Not to mention, they would have a plethora of talent on their bench with Rajon Rondo, Desmond Bane, Brandon Clarke, Xavier Tillman and rookie Ziaire Williams.

That would be a very interesting, young team to watch during the course of the 2021-22 season and given how well they performed as a team last season, Memphis is probably the best team on the rise in this league. On the other side of things, the Sacramento Kings wish they could say this about themselves.
The last time the Kings were in the playoffs was in 2006 and given how things are shaping up right now, they will be extending their playoff drought to 16 years during the 2021-22 season. Fox, Haliburton and Mitchell all have great potential, but these three guys are not enough to carry the Kings. This team needs to continue adding depth and future assets, which is what they would get in this deal.

Patrick Beverley could definitely be an asset for them, especially if he can help mentor guys like Davion Mitchell and Tyrese Haliburton on the defensive-end of the floor, and De’Anthony Melton has continued to grow as a young combo-guard. This is definitely an intriguing trade scenario for both teams, but let’s take a look at if it is actually feasible and helps both teams immediately.
