Would this trade make sense for the Charlotte Hornets?

The Charlotte Hornets are a team that is trending in the right direction. They have their franchise player locked in and were able to get a play-in game last season. This year, Charlotte is looking to get to series play in an Eastern Conference where they can make a move up the standings. That is possible with the teams near the bottom that they have to compete with.

Hayward’s contract is something that Charlotte could be looking to move. This would open up some space and help the roster get younger. Graham is gone and Terry Rozier has just one year left on his deal, which makes him another trade piece this offseason.

That means the Hornets will build around their young backcourt and continue to improve the frontcourt. This is where Nance Jr. and Okoro could help. Both players are impactful defenders who would help to turn around an underwhelming defensive unit.

Okoro is a versatile prospect that would bring an intriguing talent to the Hornets. He would be able to develop around better players on a team that is trending in the right direction.
