Sacramento Kings Receive: G Romeo Langford, F Grant Williams, BOS 2022 2nd Round Pick
Boston Celtics Receive: F Marvin Bagley III

The Boston Celtics’ frontcourt has been a mess for years now and while they added Al Horford this offseason, adding a young, versatile guy like Bagley could make sense, especially if they do not have to give up for him.

Romeo Langford and Grant Williams are both young players with potential, but neither one of these guys has what it takes to make Boston a true contender in the Eastern Conference.

The same can be said about Marvin Bagley III, but having him in their frontcourt as a rotational option instead of Grant Williams definitely gives the Celtics a better chance to be successful this upcoming season.

The Celtics was a middle-of-the-pack team in terms of rebounding last season and their bench scoring has been horrid over the years, which is why they need Bagley.

The Celtics really do not have guys on their bench who are paint/low-post threats and this is exactly the kind of player the Kings’ forward is. The Celtics will get points in the paint off their bench with a guy like Marvin Bagley III and he could be a key for them in pick-and-roll sets, especially given that he can step out on the perimeter and shoot.

The Kings do not gain much immediate value from Langford, Williams and a second-round pick next year, but Romeo Langford could wind up turning into a solid rotational guy for them behind Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield.

Not to mention, Grant Williams is a solid defender who could help the Kings on that end of the floor given his versatility to guard different positions.

The Celtics probably cannot offer up too much to get Bagley, which is why the Kings would likely not send him there, but the Celtics are definitely a team who could express some interest in Marvin Bagley III for more frontcourt help.
