Would this trade make sense for the Toronto Raptors?
The Toronto Raptors are not far removed from their championship season. Kawhi Leonard is not walking through the door but they are still a franchise that expects to compete in a relatively weak Eastern Conference.
Masai Ujiri is known for building winning teams and could attempt to do so with another big move. The Raptors struggled this season with inconsistencies. They were weak in the frontcourt and that is a reason the team was not balanced on both ends of the floor.
Both Serge Ibaka and Marc Gasol left in free agency last year. This left a big hole in the rotation that the team was unable to overcome. Enter Myles Turner. He has solidified himself as one of the best defenders in the league.
Turner led the league in blocks this season and is a true rim protector. He is improving on the offensive end of the floor and would have plenty of opportunities in Toronto where he would be the focal point down low.

The Raptors had a top-five pick this season but will enter the season looking to compete next season. If they can solidify the backcourt and get something out of Barnes as a rookie, they could be in good shape moving forward.
