Charlotte Hornets
The Charlotte Hornets have the face of their franchise in point guard LaMelo Ball. They selected him with the third pick in the 2021 NBA Draft and immediately gave him the keys to the offense. But, the Hornets still need some depth around him.
Devonte’ Graham moved on this offseason, agreeing to a deal with the New Orleans Pelicans and being part of a sign-and-trade deal to land there. Brad Wanamaker, another reserve guard, was acquired from the Golden State Warriors last season but is now a free agent.
Veteran Ish Smith was signed to a two-year deal, to help shore up the Hornets’ backcourt after strong seasons with the Washington Wizards and Detroit Pistons. Rookie James Bouknight should factor into the backcourt rotation as well during the season and Terry Rozier is still on the team as well.
But, the Hornets still needs some more depth in the backcourt, which Dante Exum could provide.

Exum would provide the Hornets with a defensive presence that they are lacking in their backcourt outside of Rozier. His ability to play either guard spot would help James Borrego as well, giving him the ability to mix and match his guards as they are all pretty much interchangeable.
