The Washington Wizards traded for Russell Westbrook before the 2020-21 season in hopes that he could help elevate them to the playoffs with Bradley Beal, which he did, but this experiment lasted just one year. On July 29, the night of the 2021 NBA Draft, the Lakers and Wizards agreed to a deal to send the triple-double machine to Los Angeles.

Now, Bradley Beal is left on a roster with a ton of key talents in Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Rui Hachimura, Davis Bertans, Deni Avdija and Daniel Gafford, as well as Spencer Dinwiddie, who the Wizards acquired via a sign-and-trade with Brooklyn, but is this team better than they were a season ago?

They definitely have more depth than they did a season ago, but overall, I find it hard to imagine that this Wizards team is any better than they were last year. Maybe they will win a few more games, but overall, it is looking like Bradley Beal will once again be a part of a Wizards’ rebuild.

With plenty of teams improving during the offseason in the Eastern Conference, Washington did not really make any moves that set them apart from the rest of the field, which is why they are likely still projected to be in the play-in tournament or miss the playoffs entirely.

Bradley Beal is in the midst of his prime and is playing the best basketball of his career right now, which is why he could soon be ready to move on from the Wizards. Like the Damian Lillard situation in Portland, Beal has not formally requested a trade, but if Washington is the same or worse than they were last season, he could very much look to be moved.

Plenty of teams around the league would be interested in Beal should he become available and one of the more intriguing teams that have shown interest in the All-Star shooting guard is the Golden State Warriors.

Pairing Beal with Steph and Klay in the backcourt could create one of the best scoring trios in the entire NBA, which is why the Warriors could look to trade for Bradley Beal during the 2021-22 season, should he become available near the trade deadline.

What could this trade wind up looking like? Let’s take a look at a hypothetical trade package the Golden State Warriors could potentially put together in attempts to land Bradley Beal and chase another championship.
