3. Sacramento Kings
The Sacramento Kings have spent a lot of their draft resources in recent years on their backcourt. De’Aaron Fox is locked in as the starting point guard, but they selected Tyrese Haliburton last year and Davion Mitchell this year in the first round.
Their guard rotation is set, but they could use some help on the wing, especially if they find a trade partner for Buddy Hield. Jarrett Culver would make for an excellent buy-low target to soak up minutes on the wing.
The Kings are likely going to use a lot of dual point guard lineups between Fox, Haliburton and Mitchell. The selections of Haliburton and Mitchell are a sign of the Kings trying to change the identity of the team, as both can get after it defensively. While Culver’s offensive game needs a lot of work, he has the tools to be a difference-maker on defense.
Culver played collegiately at Texas Tech, a program that prides itself on playing defense. Standing 6’6” with a nearly 6’10” wingspan, Culver can defend both backcourt positions and the wing.

The Kings had the worst defensive rating in NBA history last season, so adding some players that can get the job done on defense will help the team turn things around.
