2. Oklahoma City Thunder

If there is a team that should be willing to take a buy-low opportunity it is the Oklahoma City Thunder. Oklahoma City owns the draft for the foreseeable future, as Sam Presti has worked wonders in trades over the years, adding draft picks at a furious pace.

So surrendering one future second-round pick for Jarrett Culver wouldn’t even be a drop in the bucket for the franchise. They could also find lightning in a bottle with the former Red Raider.

At this point in his career, Culver just needs some reps to continue his development. There was a reason that he was selected 6th overall in the 2019 NBA Draft. The Minnesota Timberwolves don’t have a great track record developing prospects and Culver is yet another example of that.

With the Thunder, he should receive some consistent playing time on the wing, should he prove that he deserves it. The roster is full of guys looking to prove themselves as players worth being part of the long-term puzzle for the Thunder.

Right now, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the only player locked into the Thunder’s core going forward after he signed a max rookie extension this offseason. Finding players to complement him is now the task for Presti, and Culver could be that guy on the wing with the right coaching.
