Would this trade make sense for the Orlando Magic?
The Orlando Magic currently are in the early stages of the rebuilding process and managed to come away with an impressive haul of prospects from the 2021 NBA Draft. Jalen Suggs and Franz Wagner appear to be the future of the franchise.
Jonathan Isaac is coming off a major injury and is in the beginning of a four-year deal that is projected to pay him $17.4 million per season. With a legitimate injury history, the Magic could benefit from facilitating a trade to net some value in return.
The 2021-22 season is the final-year of Jusuf Nurkic’s four-year deal and that would open up a lot of salary cap flexibility for the Magic going forward.
The long-term answer at the center position for the Magic appears to be Wendell Carter Jr. and moving Mo Bamba is a logical move.

The gamble for the Magic would be that Damian Lillard eventually asks out and the 2023 first-round pick would be a valuable asset.
