1. Oklahoma City Thunder

If there is any team that might be taking on a reclamation project it is the Oklahoma City Thunder. They currently have only Theo Maledon and Tre Mann as point guards listed on the roster, but Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is more than capable of handling point guard duties as well.

Dennis Smith Jr. could slot in as a backup guard on the team. Turning only 24-years old in November, Smith is still young enough that a team can develop him to unlock more of the potential that made him a top-10 pick only four years ago.

Focused more on development than winning games right now, the Thunder would be a good landing spot for Smith. He needs some more refinement of his skills and being out of the spotlight with the Thunder would provide him an opportunity to do that without much scrutiny.

Smith is serious about developing and getting his career back on track. Before the trade to the Detroit Pistons from the New York Knicks last season, he requested permission to play with the Westchester Knicks in the G League Bubble.

He would have to earn his minutes on a young team, but the Thunder could provide Smith with the chance he needs to get his career heading back in the right direction.
