Golden State Warriors

In the weeks leading up to the 2021 NBA Draft, the thought of the Golden State Warriors trading picks and young players to land an All-Star caliber player was ramping up. There were NBA trade rumors that suggested that the Warriors could throw together a package to make a push for Pascal Siakam.

However, the Warriors elected to hold onto their picks, decreasing the odds of a Siakam trade. But until I see the Warriors fully commit to their young pieces, I’m not giving up on the idea of them acquiring Siakam from the Raptors.

Golden State would love to compete for titles with their All-Star trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. While Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody have the potential to develop into core pieces, neither of them are going to contribute consistently as rookies.

With the Los Angeles Lakers putting together an impressive squad this offseason, the Warriors understand that being complacent gets you nowhere in the Western Conference.

By acquiring Siakam, the Warriors would give themselves an endless amount of possibilities with their lineups, and it would cement them as a legitimate contender in the West.
