1. May Not Be Long-Term Point Guard
Malcolm Brogdon has had two good seasons statistically with the Indiana Pacers. His two best seasons when it comes to points, rebounds and assists have come with the Pacers, as Brogdon has taken over as the full-time point guard. His efficiency waned, but that was expected when the volume of shot attempts increased.
While Brogdon has produced at a near All-Star level, there are questions about whether or not Brogdon is the long-term answer at point guard. If that is the case, trading him after a career scoring year would make sense.
The Pacers also have capable playmakers on the team that could step into the starting role if need be. T.J. McConnell averaged 6.6 assists per game off the bench, which was 14th in the NBA. Right ahead of him was Domantas Sabonis, who averaged 6.7 assists per game and was 13th.
Indiana also has Caris LeVert who is a strong playmaker as well. With three capable playmakers already on the roster, Indiana would be able to compensate for the loss of Brogdon from that standpoint, allowing them to target a different type of player in a trade for him.

Adding some more defensive-minded players to the roster would be one course of action. Indiana has a lot of players that can score the ball but not enough that can stop opponents from doing the same consistently.
